I’m a good 15-20 years away from (hopefully) being able to retire
15-20 years ago, the health insurance landscape was very different from what is now. The Affordable Care Act (ACA), a.k.a. Obamacare, changed things a lot, for people younger than Medicare age (65). 15-20 years from now, things are likely to be different again. Unfortunately this stuff is very much affected by politics.

The best you can do is plan provisionally for what is in place now, but keep a close eye on what is happening in Washington, and be prepared to adjust if necessary.
