Personal Finance (Not Investing) • how do you like living in Columbus, Ohio (and practicing as a hospitalist)

Spent two years living near Columbus (which feels like one large overgrown suburb), and hated everything about it: landscape, weather, food, culture, politics, you name it. Fled back to the East Coast as soon as it was possible.

In the years since, I’ve met a lot of ex-Ohio residents and at some point in the conversation they inevitably remark, without provocation, “it’s not that bad.” Perhaps that should be the state slogan. I try not to smirk and point out they don’t live there anymore.

But I’m not you, and it may be a good place for you to start develop your career. A colleague spent many years in a small college town in Ohio and loved every minute of it.
