Personal Investments • updated retirement plan: What am I missing?

And like magic, there is a bill going to congress to repeal the WEP! Imo, it should pass the House quite easily. Nobody wants to be seen as depriving senior teachers of SS. If the repeal bill passes and gets signed, my SS will easily go to $1000 per month. That fact would also encourage me to work one more year teaching, in the large district in the city that takes out SS.

There would be a stampede of teachers wanting to work there, I guess, but then again teachers aren't exactly known as the brightest bulbs wrt finances.

So a modified plan using the OMY in the SS district looks like this: pension for me $44k at age 61, Full SS for me about $1200. Just the two pensions is almost 60k? As late as 2018 I only made 56k teaching.

Call centers are big in this city. Assuming I can take the verbal beating, which after working with kids, I am pretty sure I can take that. My wife works calls at night, and she has some crazies.
