Personal Consumer Issues • Buying used car: mileage?

My used car strategy is:

1. Meticulously research features, reviews to pick the car I want.
2. Analyze depreciation rates, and correlation between model year, mileage, reviews and brand.
3. Shop to find online listings.
4. Visit local dealers and use the online prices to negotiate a great deal.
5. At the last minute, ignore all that - instead, buy what my wife wants based on her 15-second scan of a photo on her phone.
Ain't that the truth. My wife's two main criteria when we bought seemed to be the color and the cup holders
