I'm kind of an elitist audiophile type, so (naturally) I find many of the Bose speaker offerings to be a little too cost-prohibitive relative to the performance they offer. (Joking...kind of)
For casual home listening that's portable, I'd probably end up with something from JBL.
If portability isn't an issue and/or you want to listen to physical CDs, a basic 2.0 stereo set up with an integrated amp + CD transport would outperform most Bluetooth speakers. Or something that splits the difference a la wireless KEF LS50...but you're getting into![:moneybag]( "money bag")
