I'll report back in a few days, but I think this is a "bug" at Vanguard as we may be in the middle of this too on a joint account spouse and I have had for more than a decade that has been linked to a joint checking account for more than a decade as well. We had to sell Treasury Money Market to the settlement fund rather than sending proceeds to bank (transaction taking effect today). After it settles we shall see if we can transfer out to bank.
