If they are fine with higher volatility in exchange for higher expected returns I don't see the problem….
I see people say some variation of this a lot. They say that the upside is a higher expected return, but the downside is volatility and the risk is psychological. If you can handle the swings, then essentially there is no downside.

The downside in reality is that you can end up with less money, even if you play it perfectly.
You left out the context of the quote which acknowledged that.
I was responding to what I thought you were going to say instead of what you actually said. Mea Culpa. :oops:
