Nisiprius recently posted a graph that showed passive was at about 20%.I look forward to reading the paper. I’d still like to know, however, what percent of the US equity market is made up of passive (or index, whichever is the correct word) holdings.
I’ve seen data that suggests the US equity market is $45-50 trillion in size. But articles that talk about passive seem to focus only on mutual funds or ETFs, which I assume represent a small portion of the total market.
