I have taken a small step for man and entered the world of creating "soup from scratch."
I call this endeavor "Soupness," and after studying author & chef Deborah Madison's approach to preparing soup from The Greens Cookbook and her later book, Vegetable Soups, I have made several batches of soup, including bean soup and lentil soup. (I am a "pescatarian," and do not eat meat, poultry, or shellfish.)
Each successive batch has been better, according to DW, who can no longer prepare meals due to health challenges. So, I've picked up the ladle and am now the chief cook (as well as dish-washer).
I'm approaching this as the design of soup. Oddly enough, it fits in with my approach to daily exercise, playing jazz, and foreign language study. I can tell you that I am totally enjoying the process!
