Personal Investments • Lost in Numbers Moving to Fidelity, Raymond, or?

I'm curious since I've never been in this situation but can the OP simply fill out all of the transfer paperwork with Fidelity, Vanguard, etc. and have all their money moved without talking with EJ or some other more expensive brokerage/FA ?

I've never had to chat with anyone to transfer money between brokerages but I've never used one of the more expensive FAs.
Yes. You generally contact the brokerage you want to move to, open accounts, and initiate the transfer(s) from there. They take care of the rest of it. I believe some brokerages will even reimburse you for account-closing fees at the old brokerage; I'd check ahead of time.

You don't have to talk to your current brokerage unless you choose to -- but if you do, be aware they'll likely grab fees out of your account right then, before the accounts move over. Found that out the hard way.
