Personal Consumer Issues • Cleaning hardwood floors - Bona, Swiffer, or?

I'm looking for the best way to clean hardwood floors without damaging them.

We've been using Bona with a microfiber mop, but aside from removing light dust, it never really seems to get the floor clean. I use Swiffer pads in the bathrooms, and they work great, but I've read mixed things about whether they are good for hardwood or not. I've also read about diluted vinegar and water and an old school mop, but that's kind of a hassle.

Suggestions would be appreciated!
Nearly daily, we just use a broom and quickly sweep our floors. Every couple months or so we will spray with Bona hardwood protectant and go over with a microfiber mop. However, over time, we get gummy spots of residue from I'm assuming day to day life with kids that Bona alone won't clean off. So for those, we just use some a rag dipped in warm soapy water and remove by hand. I'm assuming a well wrung out mop might do the same but we have always tried to limit the amount of water that sits on the floor for any length of time. A damp soapy rag has worked well. After it dries, we go over it with Bona to restore the luster again.
