Personal Investments • Vetting alternative investment fund - advice?

When I invest in alts, I start by investigating the principals. Do online searches and background checks, research their Linkedin, check the history of their professional licenses, look for lawsuits & SEC action, find out what other funds they ran and why they were shut down. Don't depend on them to tell you, because they won't mention the poorly performing funds. Some of these serial sponsors will shut down a fund after it loses money then start a new one. I know of more than one who did this.

What's the name of the fund? I might have heard of it. (You can PM if you don't want to post here.) Beware, distressed-note funds are risky
