would love a job that was potentially only 4 days/week, or possibly had some amount of tele-commuting.

Most employers want employees on-deck 5 days 40 hours per week.

Not all but many I am sure. Lockheed Martin division MS2 in Moorestown NJ and Syracuse NY ( ground based radars ) about 5K people are on a 4 day workweek with Flex Time as long as you get your 40 hours in doesn’t matter when. They also count time traveling from departure to arrival when in the road. Twice as a retired 0-5 in Bus Dev I was allowed to go part time as long as I wanted with a min hours of 27 hours a week and a max of 40. All bonus and vacations were prorated 27/40ths. Our HR person was part-time when she explained it to me. Might need to work a few years full time to get street cred before going part-time. Be a contributor they will let you live out another city out of town.
As a contractor I was given the opportunity to work flex hours, and it worked great so long as I was able to meet the key meetings throughout the week. I often worked 4 days a week, and even worked extra hours during holiday weeks so I could bank the holiday and use it in combination with leave. Worked great, I had no complaints. I think in locations where the traffic is bad (we are in Hawaii), offering flex hours is a VERY common thing. I mainly worked flex hours so as to avoid the traffic, as did numerous other folks.
