I’m a very long time quicken user, over 25 years….
I’ll say, the first thing it really did for me was to help me understand where I spend my money. I learned that in the first year of using it, and it was very illuminating. I had some big “leaks” in my spending that I didn’t realize.
At that time, I think maybe 15% of my spending was unaccounted for. Into a black hole kind of thing….
For me, it’s not about “not spending” money, it’s about understanding how I spend it, so I can spend it on the things that are most important to me.
I really do suspect that is a major “blind spot” for a lot of people. I don’t think they know how much they spend, and what they spend it on.
So I’m a fan.
