Personal Consumer Issues • Vet estimate for my daughters’ cat

Vets are not individual practitioners anymore. Most vet offices have been, or are being, bought up by corporate chains, with pricing to match. I’m on the board of a local spca, and it’s gotten to the point that many people can’t afford to own pets. As for the buy outs, vet offices are a steady stream of money, and people who can afford it will pay the prices required.
Pretty sad state of affairs. I’m actually quite thrilled that both of my girls have no intention of having kids of their own. At least they have their cats. Cost of living is just much too exorbitant today. Almost need 3-4 incomes to afford a reasonable quality of life to support a family. No wonder the birth rate is going down. Glad I’m 64 and on the back end of the bell curve
It is just a cat. Hold it real tight while your daughters brush the animals teeth.
Hope you have a low copay for the human ER! Cat bites can be quite nasty.
+1. They are much stronger than most people realize. Also, their reflexes are very fast. Hence the expression "cat-like reflexes". There aren't many that are laid back enough to let someone brush their teeth. And yes they have powerful little jaws and sharp teeth. I accidentally stepped on one climbing down from a ladder. The cat was fine, but I ended up with four holes in my ankle that took awhile to heal. They will often clamp their jaws shut, or whip their head around if someone tries to force something into their mouth. Some of ours are nearly impossible to give pills to.
