Sounds like you are enrolled in an optional automated RMD service. You can definitely control the timing if you want to do so.I'm not following how you're able to control the timing of your own RMD. I have an inherited IRA with Fidelity, and they process the RMD for me every year. They process it in mid December. I can control which assets they liquidate, and whether or not they withhold income tax. But I wasn't aware I could stop them from processing my RMDs for me.
