The non-financial criteria are much squishier, and even worse, they're not linear. One day, one feels ready to retire. The next day, the opposite. So too, with congratulating oneself for having started early. One day, one feels logically self-justified. The next day, one wonders, if starting early was of minor importance, it being far more important, to finish late. Age, rather than money, is the necessary emollient, for the mental quandaries whose solution money can't buy.
The compounding effects of 37 year trek using 630K, DCA with measurable gains, at 64 years old sitting on 3 million, all those micro thoughts described above was so worth it.

Good luck on your investment journey.
