Having been down this road, I wouldn't. With that said, I don't think I would have the perspective that I have without having gone down the road. You may need to do it, assess if you like it, and if you do, great! If not, sell it. Worst case is you take a hit on the sale and you can always wait until there's a decent market if you aren't in a rush to sell it. Personally, I find large homes annoying. I dislike being so far from my family, and also dislike the maintenance and associated pain with getting anything done for a reasonable rate. You'd be surprised how much people try to charge for simple things like trimming trees, unclogging toilet, etc at this type of home. Painful and not worth it in long run for me, but you might be different!
