Personal Investments • How to find the value for older bonds

Thanks, Grabiner.

Going back to my Q1 & Q2 questions about the interest, specific for the two EE bonds I have:
- issued 08/01/2004
- issued 09/01/2004

On the Treasury website it states: "EE bonds earn interest monthly. Interest is compounded semiannually, meaning that every 6 months we apply the bond's interest rate to a new principal. The new principal is the sum of the prior principal and the interest earned in the previous 6 months."

I do not understand this in the context of my two EE bonds.
1. When exactly will the interest rate for my bonds change and when will I see the changed interest rate in my account?
2. If I decide to cash the EE bond issued on 08/2004, do I have to wait until some future date after September 2024 in order to get all the interest, etc.? I do not know what the semiannual compounding would mean in this case and I would not want to make a mistake and forfeit $s.
3. Will the $10,000 (for a $5,000 bond issued 08/2004) be posted to my account on 09/01/2024?
