Personal Investments • Sell Treasury Note before maturity?

I have had better returns on the other 50% of my portfolio that I have invested, on my own, in Mutual Funds, ETF's and some Stocks that I chose from a few different Dividend Aristocrats.

I regret tying up my money in these Treasury Notes as I now feel I should have been more aggressive with my $ and not had so much of my portfolio tied up in Treasury Notes.
How would you have felt about the Treasuries if the rest of your portfolio had lost 20% YTD? That certainly could have happened. You or your adviser do not have a crystal ball to see what is going to happen in the next x months. The purpose of having fixed income (bonds) as well as equities (stocks, and I guess what you call ETFs) is to get a "good" result no matter what the markets do. Not the best result - it's only possible to get that if you are lucky. No strategy will always result in the optimal outcome.

To me, it doesn't sound like you are in a position to be too aggressive with your investments. You are more on the border line where you need to be careful with retirement so close.
