Agreed. I'll probably keep lower amount in Fidelity, so i can use it to make bill payments. I'll use Vanguard to buy their MMFs.All Fidelity MMFs meeting the following criteria auto-liquidate: https://www.reddit.com/r/fidelityinvest ... _to_fdlxx/If you would use the Fidelity treasury only or NY exempt fund you still would have to move funds to a core position to pay bills, though some funds do support an auto-liquidate function.IMHO, the big win with Fidelity is that you can make a checking/payment hub account be the same APY as your savings account. You don't have to do anything except buy the Fidelity MMF you want, everything else is automatic. And if SPAXX works for you as the MMF, you literarily have to do nothing.Code:
Auto-liquidating non-core money market requirements are:• Fidelity Investments Money Market (FIMM), non-FIMM government, retail prime, and retail municipal funds• Maintains a stable net asset value• A liquidity fee has not been imposed
Vanguard funds do have lower ERs if you can't buy into the higher tier Fidelity funds which are much closer in ER. You can also ACAT the Vanguard MMFs over to Fidelity if you want to use them as savings and sell them at Fidelity to fund your checking.
