I would definitely buy one and put it in reserve. But I would not replace at this point. Talk to me again when it is 25 years old
For what it's worth, I replaced our well pump last year after it died unexpectedly. Very straightforward job if you're handy... hardest part was getting the stiff hoses for the nozzles on and off, needs a little elbow grease.
I would call it DIY 201 but first semester 201
