You had single-pane from 1996? I would have thought ~everything was double pane by then. Did you replace with single or with double?

My ex-in-laws have a house in Houston built circa 2004 that has all single pane windows. Yeah I was surprised too. They were on a busy road and the house was really noisy because of that.
