just more info. from pensions in Texas. Teachers and state employees in Texas have the 2nd strongest multiplier I have heard of at 2.3%.
Example 30 years of employment gets a Texas teacher 69% of 'high five annual salary", 30 X 2.3, but no COLA.
Military i8s #1, with multiplier of 2.5. This is the old system and I know they have a new system. My Navy man son chose a the new system and I am curious to find out what the hybrid system consists of. Military pension comes with COLA.
Required contributions for a Texas teachers to get that pension are 8.25% + 0.65% to help retired Texas teachers afford health insurance. I wonder what your required contribution % is if you choose pension?
