This argument is going on for years. Last decade's data is showing that your current allocation is winning. Would that continue in future? People guess and propose theories but in realty nobody knows what will happen in future. In The Simple Path to Wealth, Jim Collins recommended picking a random date every year to review your investments and adjust asset allocation. For me I picked May 27, which is my wife and I's anniversary.
Right now we are 100% VOO. I've generally bought the idea of Jack Bogle that the US economy is so large and encompassed within the international market itself that holding VOO is, essentially, investing internationally. I also buy the theory that the world economies are so interconnected that it's unlikely that international goes on a bull run while domestic takes a plunge.
BUT, I have been doing some reading and think it's finally time to diversify.
Is 100% VOO sufficient for a 36 year old couple, or should we diversify?
