Investing - Theory, News & General • New version of PortfolioVisualizer?

Gents, it’s a - mostly - free site. All of the functionality is still there.

No need to get worked up. I don’t like the redesign myself, but it’s not that bad.
I think the primary concern is the limit on the number of years you can back test in the "free" version, which arguably makes the site worthless for "long term" investors (aligned with BH principles).

Want to look at all available data (aka "long term"), forced to pay.

Clearly that's an unexpected and unwelcome change, especially as I understand it with zero advance notice.

As an analogy, it would be like if the owners of BH decided to only let you view 3 posts a day and see what's on the main page for free. If you wanted to search or look at more then 3 posts a day, you need to pay an annual fee.

As a reminder, this site is privately owned. As the owners of the site, they'd be well within their rights to do so (baring any restrictions tied to funding from the Bogle Foundation). But that doesn't mean people would be happy about it... And people would be looking for alternatives...
