Personal Finance (Not Investing) • The cost of not using credit cards with rewards?

The best (well, most efficient) way to make money from credit card rewards is through sign-up bonuses (SUB). A couple times a year, you'll see bonuses in the $1,000+ range.
Seems like a lot of work though no?

We spent about 100-120k a year on expenses and it's all channeled through the BoA 2.62% rewards credit card, so we usually see close to 3k in rewards per year. Although a portion of the spend is from tax payments which tend to have fees of up to 2%, so we don't necessarily net the full rewards amount. The signup bonuses I've seen only tend to be a few hundred dollars and the reward payout may not be quite as good as the BoA 2.62% card
