The book has a provocative title for sure, but you don’t need to get past page 18 before you realize that it wasn’t written to teach you how to go broke. Not sure why anyone would want/need to read a book to do that, but I digress.Very tough crowd! He’s not going to make it to Zero at that rate.Including his recent $5.9M gift to DePelchin Children's Center? This is a tough crowd!Looking at the author’s philanthropy and other choices, I’m not impressed.
The criticism is unbelievable.
He's donating to other charities as well. And when donating large sums of money he wants to see data-driven outcomes which take time (another reason to start early).
Maybe you're just kidding, but if you're still stuck on the zero thing, you probably need to read more of the book for it to kick in.
Page 18: “My overarching goal is to get you to think about your life in a more purposeful, deliberate manner, instead of simply doing things as you and others have always done them. Yes, I want you to plan for the future- but never in such a way that you forget to enjoy the present.”
To me that sounds quite different than “my overarching goal is to show you how to die with zero.”
