(As I posted in another thread) (I can't get through the paywall) What kind of TIPS fund experienced a drop of more than -30%? That's not a normal TIPS fund. Does he say which fund it was?

The Vanguard Inflation-Protected Securities Fund, which is a significant chunk of my portfolio, fell -14%, which certainly sucked. But it wasn't -30%, and as a matter of fact it was the best-performing--well, least-bad performing--non-cash asset I own. Nominal bonds fell more, and stocks fell even more.
I don't see what makes TIPS any worse to hold in the form of a bond fund than any other kind of bond.
