I think I’ve reached this point in the last month. My original intent was to leave my profession in 2025. Because I feel secure and comfortable, I’ve moved the date to 2024. I feel no anxiety about my transition and I’m quite excited about the next stage of my life. What got me to this point was capturing my spending over the last three years. We’ve spent more in the last three years than we have at any other point in our lives. Over that time, the amount we spent was pretty consistent over all three years. I anticipate spending the same amount or less for years to come. I say that because there is a lot we can trim from our budget if needed. By the time I leave my profession, the goal is to have 35x our desired future spending.
