We all know what they say about assumptionsBogleheads:
Long-time reader of this forum and appreciate the wisdom of contributors. I'd like to get advice and ideas about a friend's investment situation. I have described to my friend the Bogle philosophy and my friend has expressed interest. I would like to help this friend move away from their (I assume costly) financial advisor

At the risk of committing blasphemy and excommunication, my advice and concern is giving in to the cult of "boglehead" or whatever vs general/common sense financial advice...with which in fairness there is a lot of overlap, but my point is no one person or group of people have a stranglehold on wisdom, financial or otherwise, and groupthink is a short-sighted and dangerous thing.I realize there is a lot to unpack here, but given the above, what questions, concerns, and advice do you have?
