Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Greater downpayment vs investing

There was a time when you could buy a home with near 0% down on interest-only mortgages. It wasn't that long ago. It would not plaster any of your money into the house. Eventually you have to start making principal payments, unless you are able to refinance.

I bought my first home with 3% down. And had zero credit history at the time. It was a fixed rate conventional 30yr mortgage though.

There are still many low downpayment options.
