It appears as though you need two witnesses even if it's a holographic will.I can't estimate how much would be going to the charity for the following reason. I don't know if she has POD an all of her financial accounts or just a few. Same with her house.What can it hurt for OP to contact the no-kill shelter especially as it appears from my reading that it might be a substantial amount. OP do you have any idea what amount we are speaking of and could you relay that to the charity? They may or may not get back to you but I see no harm in contacting them.
Of course, none of this matters if it is not deemed a legally executed will. OP should be able at this point to make a decent assessment of whether the basic guidelines were followed.
I think the will is fairly well constructed. The will is handwritten, signed and dated. Only one witness tho.
