Taking five years is plan B, something went "wrong". Some possible reasons:An EE degree is generally a five year program, ...
- you fail a course
- you are not ready to take calculus freshman year
- you transfer or change majors
- you don't follow the course sequencing properly
- you are not attending school full time (actual full time, not 12 credit policy full time that doesn't lead to graduating in four years)
Plenty of people have one of the above happen, but it's not the general plan. (Also, plenty of people experience one of the above and still graduate in 4 years.)
