I personally agree with the OP. Vanguard's IT is way behind competitors. Some of us might find that irrelevant - good for them -, and some of us might find it annoying or downright infuriating. I was in the "annoying" camp until I started managing someone else's 401(k) at Vanguard - if you think their Investor site is somewhat bad, I hope you never have to work with their Retirement Plan site.
The simple fact that they still can't display YTD performance is astounding to me. Does it matter that much? Probably not. But it's telling.
Vanguard has amazing products, and subpar IT processes and website. People can have different opinions and disagree without it being a conspiracy.
