You've made the importance of the private school clear up front, but that's obviously the big lever. Perhaps it's one of those things where 80% of the effect is achieved with the K-5 component? Switch to public school at middle school (or high school). The diversity of experience may benefit them.
Big family + HCOL area = big expenses. A lot of this is unavoidable. You can look at little things like planning out meals to reduce food waste, and make more dishes that reheat well, but as everyone has said this is not going to move the needle.
Anything either of you can do to take the income up another notch? Not sure if the tradeoff of lost family time is worth it, but that may be a more useful way to focus efforts.
