Personal Consumer Issues • EV / Hybrid basics?

You put just 46,000 miles on your car in 9 years. Do you really need a vehicle? If yes, then with your current driving habits I'd say you likely have a decade or more of driving to go before you need to search for a new vehicle. (Unless the car already has major problems?)

As for your solar system, I'd oversize it. Your usage will usually go up (unless you have a situation like teens that use a lot of electricity moving out soon). We installed 2.5 years ago and have since added a lot of previously unplanned usage and plan EV down the road. If I could've put more panels up, I would have!

IMO, hybrid is a great current option. They depreciate slower than EVs, and receive better reliability reviews than plug in hybrids. I drive 12k miles a year and hit the gas station maybe once every 2 weeks. If you are range anxiety prone, hybrids offer 500-600+ mile range vs EV real world 150-300. But if you go EV, you drive so few miles I don't think you would need to charge daily nor would you need a level 2 charger installed.
As I stated it is a 20 year old car that has lived its entire life in the Northeast, which makes it highly susceptible to car cancer - rust.

Also, I'm not looking to buy a car today. Only want to know how much capacity I need to allot for a solar installation to be able to handle some form of electric vehicle in the future.

Understood. Does it have rust now?

For your amount of driving, I'd plan a system capable of 110% - 120% of your current use. Unless there's other circumstances that may increase your use in the future.
There are minimal spots of rust right now. Nothing that would cause me to fail inspection. I did have an area that would have failed me but a friend worked on it for me and I may now get three inspections out of that work.

110% to 120% use of current would not work. Forecasting how I'd use increase usage on all current electricity items I already own plus adding in 1,000 kWh for an electric vehicle puts me at about 44% more than current usage.
Exactly why I said "unless thee's other circumstances that may increase your use in the future"
So take that future value, and add another 10% or so. That will probably more than what you will need.
