prolly depends on your state law. For example, CA is a fault state, and a hit-and-run woudl be covered under the uninsured/unisured part of insurance. More importantly, per state law, insurers could not raise your rates when the other guy is at fault.
IF they can identify the other party, otherwise it's Collision (in ca). UM won't cover it without an identified at-fault party
