I have no idea what LVMH is. Maybe I don't know what luxury clothing is. For example I am talking about Vouri sweat pants and shorts. Some of the brands of t-shirts I have come from Nordstrom such as obey. I also like button downs like Bugatchi fit me perfectly and again don't shrink in the wash and dryer. These shirts have lasted for years. As for athletic gear, some of that you can't put in the drier like ski jackets and ski pants. Base layers Like Smartwool or Arcteryx can be washed over and over and still do their job. Columbia and Patagonia have some excellent stuff as well. Lasts a long time, and does the intended job. What brands of clothing are we talking about? Most high end stuff like LVMH brands (e.g. Loro Piana) shrink like crazy if washed and dried like a normal polo. Even mid range brands like Lacoste and Boss don’t do well in a dryer. The care instructions clearly say to avoid the dryer. That's my point....they don't get ruined in the dryer.Well, at least don't put the luxury clothing in the clothes dryer. They will be ruined prematurely.Luxury clothing:
Luxury clothing is a con. It’s a genius way to remove money from rich people’s pockets with huge margins. I’d would rather invest in LVMH than buy anything they sell.
Not sure what the definition is of luxury, but I will admit to having some items of clothing that are pricey and I want to defend them. The most important item on my list of expensive clothing is performance gear. Good gear that fits the needs of the activity make a huge difference. As an example, ski gear that keeps you warm but isn't bulky while also durable isn't cheap, but in my opinion well worth the money.
My favorite daily attire is jeans and a t-shirt. What I find is that nicer t-shirts are preshrunk (don't shrink in the dryer) and I can buy brands that fit a lean muscular physic. Plus the material is softer to the touch. You don't get that from cheaper t-shirts. I am willing to pay more for that.
I also have a couple of pairs of sweat pants and shorts that are pricey as well. Same thing. They are soft, fit better, and don't shrink in the wash. They are more comfortable to be active in. Although they cost more, they last far longer than the cheap stuff.
I really don't think I am being coned here or maybe I am comfortably oblivious of reality.
EDIT: OK, I just looked up LVMH. Louis Vuitton. Then I laughed because there is no way in hell I am buying that nonsense.
