Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Primer on Paying Taxes With a Credit Card

I've just got the Cap 1 Venture X Business card - since I have a large tax bill, wanted the sign up bonus that's dependent on $30k spend.

BUT - it's very difficult to get charges approved. I could only pay $7k max on a single tax payment, all other charges above this were denied. Despite a card that supposedly "has no limit"

Does anybody have experience pre-paying the CC (ie, overpay the balance) to be able to make a larger tax payment
Credit cards don't work like that. Your best bet is calling them the bank and asking them to temporarily raise the limit.
As I remember, I made that call and asked pre approval for enough and a bit extra to make the tax payment plus fees. Was approved and the next day I made the payment. Paid card after it posted.
