Well, I'm never below 0F and still prefer to sleep with my electric oil radiator. I did some googling and it seems like Americans are shifting back to using more radiant systems. It looks like the new heat pump technology allows for very efficient/zoned radiant heating and cooling.Nothing is more comfortable for heating a house than one form or another of radiant heating. Even 100 year old cast iron radiators are great. Why would you never live in a house with ducted? Panasonic, Daikin, and Mitsu all offer ducted HPs.Recent advances in heat pump mini-splits for both heating and cooling are a god send. These days a hot water heat system and mini-splits for cooling and extra heating can be the best of both worlds. I would never live in a house with ducted air for heating and cooling.
In fairness I admit I am talking about houses in a cold climate (below 0F for significant periods).
