Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Question: Is it time to coast?

So tell me what you think. I am 54, about to be 55. I am married and have 3 kids in college. All of their college expenses seem to be covered by their 529 plans.

Right now, I am in a job that gives me extreme anxiety. It is a very high-pressure company and the drive to sell and expand is relentless. I find myself waking in the middle of the night ruminating over things and stressing about “what’s next”

I feel that at this point in my career, I should be able to re-direct into something less anxiety-inducing.

My wife and I currently have $3M in 401ks, Roths and Brokerages. We still owe about $200K on our home…@ 2% interest over the remaining 13 years of the loan. We spend out $10K per month.

I really never expected to find myself in such a mentally stressful position at this point in my career.

Perhaps it is a question that I need to answer for myself…but wondering if it is time for me to redirect into a less stressful role…perhaps for less $$$.

Am I in a financial position to do so?
What part of the $3M is pre-tax vs. Roth vs. taxable? $120k/yr include all your taxes? Spouse income? What do you (both) earn now and how portable are your skills? What has happened to other employees at your company who were previously in similar positions?
