It’s quite an ordeal, but in short, I was charged a fee that I shouldn’t have been charged, so they had to put in a “sell -cancel” order for the original order and then they had to enter a new sell order, which is where those dates came from. The whole situation has been an absolute disaster with an endless amount of calls to try and resolve. Given the correction they made and the settlement date they have listed, I was wondering if I’ll have earned at least a small amount of dividend while the other portion of my money (the fee they deducted) was in limbo.Ok, then you are the owner of record until Settlement Date.Sorry, I forgot to state this was a sell order.Record Date is the controlling factor.
You are not recorded as being the owner until Settlement Date.
The question you want to ask is whom the owner of record is on record date.
There is a edge case where the trade is labeled “with dividends” but it is very rare.
That being said, I find the long settlement time very odd. Why is this?
