Correct. Up until the Cybertruck release, Tesla has never sponsored any paid-for, off-site launch events. They never even provided a fleet of press vehicles for outlets to borrow.I'll add one other thing...I am a car fan. I read online car magazines (Car & Driver, etc.). One thing I have noticed is that many of the manufacturers cater to the writers by sending them to exotic locations to drive Porches, etc. They tend to get great reviews.
Not sure about the other manufacturers but I don't believe Tesla provides "free" loaded loaners or puts them up in fancy hotels.
Press made their own way to launch events at Tesla factories, rode in 60 second loops around the parking lot like the general public did, and any review vehicles they would have needed to purchase or borrow from real owner.
I drove a Model 3 for 4+ years, and the replacement for it, without hesitation, was a Model Y. (In this non-US market, the new pricing was completely stable/normal and therefore depreciation normal).
In almost 5 years of ownership, I remain perplexed at strangers without qualification writing weird stuff about it. Such as:
What, can someone please explain, is the wall here and why does it act as a lock-in? If you buy a Tesla-branded home charger, or battery system, it is completely vehicle agnostic.Yes I do, with the addition of the Apple lock-in effect making it difficult to leave their walled garden.
The car isn’t integral/foundational to your email, your digital life, your smart home systems, your finances, anything…
A ridiculous assertion. Utterly inane.
