Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Living Trust: Fund Exclusion

We intend to place our Vanguard taxable brokerage account in our living trust. The account, containing several mutual funds, has a number but individual mutual funds do not. We would like to exclude one of the mutual funds from the trust but we do not know how to approach it. I read here that Vanguard requires the accounts placed in trusts to be retitled. How can I leave one mutual fund out of the whole numbered account before placing it in a trust?
Open a second taxable brokerage account first.

Although it's probably easier to open a new trust account and move everything else instead of retitling the existing account.

I'm curious as to your rationale. I cannot think of any reason to do what you are doing.
