At the end of the day, I think anyone doing the all-the-way Attia stuff is going to be in great shape. Truly. And so I would not criticize anyone for getting really fit and strong and taking great care of their body. (Same thing for anyone who wants to go hard core vegan or otherwise be incredibly healthy on the intake). No criticism from me on doing the work.
I don't think it's any more over-the-top than Bogleheads saving 30% of their gross income, or planning their retirement around a 2.5% withdrawal rate exclusive of Social Security. A paid off home, $50k in cash, and Social Security benefits at age 65 is not only sufficient, it'd put you way ahead of the curve compared to most Americans... but it'd probably leave you in the bottom 1% here. We're a bunch of nerdy, overachieving optimizers by nature.
I think that's right. A lot of the influencers in the health space are speaking to the overachievers, and if you overachieve on health, just like wealth, that's great.

I definitely don't think it's for everyone though, and in a country with massive health challenges, I think most people can benefit a ton from more workable plans.
