I agree. In addition, I have thermometers in both refrigerator and freezer.Folks,
Coming from a developing country where power outage is a constant possibility, we kept multiple reusable ice substitutes in our freezer. During power outage, we move a few of them into the refrigerator section. If we go out camping, we take a few of them with us. As long as you buy those solid reusable ice substitutes, they last forever and you should buy them on sale too.
Or else, keep some plastic bottle with water in your freeze section and put a coin inside the bottle. If coin drop, you know that you have a power failure affecting your freezer while you were out.
