I decided to use STIP (or VTIP) for short term savings/emergency fund.
Keeps up with inflation.
Generally 100% state tax free.
STIP has dirt cheap ER of 3 bps
Just as easy to trade as SGOV.
Replacing my savings bonds as they mature.
Treasury Direct is just so inconvenient with their 20 week wait for services.
Easier to buy an ETF, and while SGOV is great, I decided to go with STIP.
Some might not like the relative volatility in price compared to SGOV, but I am fine with that.
I like either one, but if in a high tax state, slight edge to STIP and also slight expense ratio edge.
