In all* cases for me, these “buy now pay later” offers do not qualify for the credit card’s rewards, so the hidden fee would be not getting 2% back from a 2% cashback card for example.

* the only exception I have encountered is Apple Card Monthly Installments, which are only for Apple products purchased with Apple Card directly from Apple.
