Personal Consumer Issues • Need bath fans help

I prefer wall vents, although a kitchen wall vent (8" wide louver?) I once used for a bigger bath fan had a too-strong spring on the flapper. Elesewhere, I used a 4" bath vent designed specifically for a soffit, with two smaller louvers (pointing left and right) under a white plastic bird-grille. It has held up fine, over 15 years. I got that soffit vent at a big-box home store, but I imagine Amazon has it.

I forget whether the 90-degree elbow (horizontal to down) is integral or separate.
